Trip to Jupiter

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Last month we went to Jupiter in Florida :) for a bike trip. We were supposed to meet our Malaysian friends (Saras & family) there who just move from Orlando. Saras and family couldn’t make it that day, what a bummer :( this is our second plan we made that hasn’t work out. Maybe we try again for the third time :) Right, Saras :)

Okay, back to the trip to Jupiter, this trip was plan by my bicycle club (South Broward Wheelers). The ride starts at 8:00 am and they will ride for about 52 - 55 miles. They have 2 different groups for 2 different speeds (Lets call it Fast Ride and Slow Ride). I did the slow ride before and enjoyed it very much. We normally stop at a few places to view the sceneries like their beautiful beach, Japanese Garden, Jupiter Island and after the ride we hang out at the beach for a B-B-Q. Here are some of the pictures I took during that trip.

We had a lot of fun and we hope to meet Saras and family soon. I can’t wait to get back on my bike and bring Joshua to the ride with me. Due to safety reason, I have to wait until Joshua is 1 year old before I can put him on the seat of my bike.

Joshua’s First Thanksgiving

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

I know it is a little late for Thanksgiving :P but here is Joshua’s first Thanksgiving day. We were invited to our friends Alan and Andrea for BBQ at their house and the next day we celebrate with our family. We had a great time and Joshua was so young at that time (almost 2 months old) and he slept most of the time.

The pictures above are the Thanksgiving at Alan & Andrea’s house, pictures taken by Judy. Thanks Judy, awesome pictures.

The pictures above are the Thanksgiving with our families and friends at Paul (my inlaw’s fiancee’s restaurant). They serves good food and their deserts are to die for :) Joshua can’t do anything much at this time but I am sure next Thanksgiving he will be running around.

Mr Char-Broil

I was looking for a grill for a very long long time. My husband (Brad) and I can’t agree to what kind of grill to get, I want charcoal grill but Brad want a propane grill. A few months ago at one of my favorite blog CatCat which I visited daily ( addicted like drugs :) ) talked about getting a new grill. Cath advised me to get a propane grill instead of charcoal, after talking to Brad again we decided to go with propane grill. Thanks Cath, you’re a life saver :). If you want some entertainment please visit CatCat; there’s a funny mommy, 2 lovely daughters and also Mr GQ. Anyway, here is our new grill bought it from Walmart for $87.00 , what a deal huh? I saw the same one at Home Depot for $119.00

This grill looks so simple but my god, you cannot believe how much parts you have to put together. I feel like there is a million screws :P So far, we grill Teriyaki chicken with pineapple but I didn’t get a chance to take the pictures. Oh no …….. I can see my neighbor’s backyard, hehehe. I have to move my grill the other way so my neighbor won’t think that I am spying on them :) .

Here’s what I cooked the other day and it doesn’t look as nice as Gert’s fried rice :( If you want the recipe, go to Gert’s blog  and she has all kind of good food. Please make sure you have a lot of tissues to wipe your drools :)

My Mother’s Day Gifts

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Last 2 weeks I was really sick and didn’t get a chance to check my mail. During the weekend Brad went to our mail box to pick up the mail. He came back with 2 packages and handed one of them to me (the biggest package) :) . I was really surprise and guess who it is from? Common, don’t be shy….. okay, okay…. it’s from Abg. Lan and Alan in Boston. It was very nice of you and very thoughtful, thank you very much for all the goodies and we love it, especially muruku.

Below are pictures of Joshua with Teddy bear and he loves it so much we have to make sure it is in his bag at all time.

Last Friday Joshua’s daycare have a breakfast for Mother’s Day. I couldn’t make it that day but I went there early to pick up Joshua and spend some times with the teachers. Last week was also the Teacher’s Appreciation Week. Can you believe that, they have one whole week! I guess they deserve it for taking care and educate our children. Joshua told me, he needs to get some present for his teachers and mommy has to wrap it for him. I wrap the gifts, slip it in Joshua’s bag and surprise them which they did. Woohoo… mission accomplish! While I was hanging out at his daycare, I was busy taking bunch of pictures and one of them is his artwork. Pretty funny for a little man who just turn 7 months. :)

Joshua’s crib

You can see, he is the teacher’s pet. Look at his crib, he has 3 toys hanging and other cribs only have one or two toys. :)

He’s trying to get his binkie in his mouth.

Before we left the class, Joshua’s teachers wish me a Happy Mother’s Day and hand me a card made by Joshua. I felt like crying, I never thought I will get something from a baby as young as Joshua.
