Just Another Day in Florida

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Here we are again ……. We caught cold again. Last Winter (cold seasons) we were sick over and over, non stop. Spring is allergy seasons and we already getting sick for the past 2 weeks. Maybe we need to live in a bubble like “Bubble Boy”. I should invest my money on Tylenol and Motrin’s stock since we’ve been taking this medicine like crazy.

Let’s get to the good part, I managed to snaps some pictures of Josh while we were goofing around at home.

Groceries shopping always a fun weekend day for us. Josh enjoys driving his car and his job is getting the items we purchased into the cart.

Last weekend we went to Bahama Breeze Restaurant for lunch with grandma. That was fun!

Lastly, but not least, we have Joshua’s picture eating his dinner all by himself.

McD monopoly 2008

Every year McD has a monopoly game with millions of prizes and I am one of the person who will be playing it for fun. I’ll have McD for breakfast all the time. I know McD is not a healthy food but I just love junk food especially McD. Last year we got bunch of Best Buy Bucks and I can’t remember what my hubby get it at Best Buy. This year I play the online also and so far I won 4 of 25 pts-My Coke Rewards and 3 of 1 Free hour of Wayport WIFI. What am I going to do with that? I have no idea. I also won 4 small soft drink or small coffee, 3 medium fries, 3 any breakfast sandwich and 3 small McFlurry or fruit’N Yogurt Parfait. I’m only going to get my free McFlurry, other stamps I gave it away to the guys at my office.

Do I think I am going to win $1 Million? I don’t think so! I play because it’s fun and I am not going to go to McD and buy 60 hash brown hoping I’ll win a Million dollar. That’s just insane but hey, you never know maybe one day I might gone crazy and starts buying 60 hash brown every morning. :) This game was design not to let people win. It is confirmed the rare pieces for this year are:

  • #279 - Water Works (only 5000 pieces) = prize $50.00

If you have one of the pieces above you have technically won, getting the other pieces in the set is easy. People are searching to buy the above pieces but all the people selling large collection of the stamps that doesn’t contain the above stamps. If you’re playing this game, please keep the above list with you. When you get the piece listed, you’re a winner and if it is Boardwalk…… feel free to share your winning with us. ;-)

Halloween is getting closer and I am going crazy looking for Josh’s Halloween’s costume. It was hard to find a costume for him. He’s sharing the same problem with mommy. The clothes here are too big for us or it fit us but it’s too short. I have to go clothes shopping at a Junior dept. for tall kids and their style is sooooo not for me. Anyway, What is he going to be? I’ll post it after his first Halloween Trick or Treat. Enjoy your weekend, guys!

This lemon is so sour but I like it. Don’t take it away, Daddy! It’s mine!!!

Josh 1st Birthday Plan

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Joshua Arif will be celebrating his first birthday on October 6th and I don’t have anything much done. I did get a room booked at a park near our house. What exactly do I have to get done?

  1. Invitations
  2. Games/toys for the kids
  3. Party Favors
  4. Birthday Party Themes
  5. Party Decorations & Supplies
  6. Menu
  7. Order Birthday Cake(s)
  8. Birthday Present

Invitations:

I have been making a few phone calls and will be mailing an invitation to people who will be available for Josh’s birthday party.

Games/Toys for the kids:

I was thinking of getting bunch of coloring books and crayons for the kids. Also get a bunch of toys for them to play.

Party Favors:

I could get some toys, pen, candy,etc.,etc.

Birthday Party Theme:

Baby Einstein 1st Birthday

I am thinking about Baby Einstein 1st Birthday but I feel like going more toward Pirate Party (Treasure Island) because there are more games for the kids with this theme.

Pirate Party

Party Decorations and Supplies:

I will get it done once I decide which theme for his party.

Menu:

This is my biggest problem. I am not sure what to serve my guests and I know for sure I won’t have enough time to cook it. All the food has to be prepared by someone else like a deli or something. I probably should get some;

  • Sandwiches
  • Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, etc.
  • Cookies and animal crackers - for kids
  • Fruits Platter
  • Veggie Platter
  • Cup cakes
  • Ice creams
  • Soda, Water and Juice
  • Bread and crackers

I am looking for an advise about the menu. So, please help!

This is what I see when I got to his daycare one afternoon.

My last post I informed that I was planning to cook chicken rice from Gert’s blog and sambal from Farina’s blog for Father’s day but since Brad want to go out so I made it the next day. If you want the recipes please visit Gert’s and Farina’s blog. Farina, the sambal was so good I didn’t get a chance to take the picture. I ate the whole thing, hehehe. I like my chicken rice looks darker than Hainanese chicken rice so I used 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce and 1/2 tbsp light. Here is the picture of Nasi Ayam, I roasted it and brush with some honey. Thumb’s up, Gert. While eating these lovely meals, I can’t stop myself from making bunch of noises like hmm hmmm hmmm with every single bite I took. :) Brad asked me if I feel like at home (meaning Malaysia) and my answer to him was “almost, dear….. almost”.
