Hari Raya Wish From Malaysia

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

I received a text message from my younger sister to check You Tube and search for Raya Wish to Cik Zie. My nephews and nieces call me Cik Zie, I did search and found the video on You Tube. I have to make some corrections; I thought my darling nephew Hafiz made a video to wish Cik Zie a Hari Raya but it turns out my beautiful and favorite niece Ili Dayana (Kak Ngah) made it. Thanks for the thought Kak Ngah and you just score a brownie point, please email Cik Zie and let me know what do you want from Cik Zie ( don’t ask for a Jimmy Choo, ok?). Cik Zie missed all of you and the video made Cik Zie cry because I wish I was there with my darling nephews and my beautiful nieces. I will see you soon in January and don’t forget to make some satay for Cik Zie. I love you guys and here are bunch of kisses for you “muah” “muah” “muah”.

In Flight Service

Picture from MAS

I received my passport a couple weeks ago and planning to go home anytime soon. I am thinking between October 2008 - January 2009 and confident my boss will definitely approve my vacation during those months. I was wondering if anyone knows any good deals to fly back to Malaysia. At this moment, I don’t really care what airline it is as long as it is cheaper and safe for me and Josh to travel.

Also if there is any suggestions for travelling with a baby alone or with a partner. Do I need to bring his carseat, stroller, etc. with us? Is there any place in K.L renting carseats? I know MAS carry Gerber baby food onboard and I definitely can use that for an emergency. :)

Please post your experience of travelling with your baby here and I really appreciates all your feedback. Thanks, guys!

Happy Friday

Friday, June 27th, 2008

When I got home today, there was an envelope under my placemat from the embassy of Malaysia in Washington DC. Oh no….. what else do they want now? One month after I submitted my application to replace my passport, they requested an explanation letter for the delay in replacing my passport. I mailed it the next day and last month I gave them a call to check the status. I was told it will take up to six months for the immigration to issue me a new passport since it was stolen or lost.

Last October 2006, my passport and my entire id’s were stolen. Someone broke into my car and stole my handbag under my car seat while I was in a bank making my daily deposit. I had my entire id’s (Malaysia & US) with me that day because my passport was expiring and I need to make copies and notarized before I can mail it to the embassy for renewal. I was in the bank for less than 10 minutes, when I came back everything was gone. That was my worst day …… the nightmare began, numerous visit to the police stations, banks, immigration, Social Security office and Drivers’ License office. I am so happy that it’s finally over. Anyway, guess what the embassy want now …….

Woohoo……… my new passport!

Finally……… it only took them 5 and 1/2 months to issue me a new passport. No..no… no… I am not complaining. It is a Happy Friday indeed. :)
